The Universe loves you too much

The Universe loves you too much

April Fool

“But life has a way of pulling the rug out from under you just when you need it least, which is what they like to call growing, I guess, but as far as I’m concerned you can have it. It seems like everything they call growing up has to jerk your guts out and just about wreck you and I’ve never been able to understand why that’s supposed to be good for you.”
―Gary Paulsen

“Y

ou’re perfect exactly as you are.
I love you.
I will never leave you.
I’m right here by your side—through thick and thin.
I love you unconditionally.
I care about you so much.
There’s no one like you.
I’m so very proud of you.
You can share anything with me; I will always listen to you.
I see how hard you try.
It’s not always easy.
I understand.
I know.
It’s all going to be okay.”

Sorry.

The voices in your head will never say any of these things to you. No, you won’t be minding your own business someday and suddenly hear these reassuring messages playing to you in the background. It’s an April Fool’s gag to assume that unconditional love will be the default setting. It’s never going to happen. The stream of conscious noise pollution between your ears will always dole out the opposite. The system is rigged toward feeling bad—not feeling good.

So why is that? What’s the underlying message here in this? Does the universe hate our guts and life is really some cruel joke? Is our true nature hateful and mean?

The cynics would certainly have proof of that based on the premise I provided above. But what if your dilemma was really a sign that the Universe loves you too much to permit you to go unconscious? What if it wants you to be present—so you can show up to give yourself the love you deserve? What if the Universe knows that when you go unconscious, when you go up into your head and listen to the voices, you will spiral into darkness, and that this will be motivation enough to be diligently conscious, awake, and alert.

For the love of you.

You saved by you.

You embraced by you.

You holding your own hand—guiding yourself through life.

The Universe is saying, “Hey! No one, nowhere, and no thing is coming to save you. It’s up to you. Will you show up for you?”

Will you?

In lovingkindness,
