The next state

The next state

The next state

“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”
—Anaïs Nin

I

see this all the time with people assuming life is about getting what they want. “If things aren’t going my way,” people think, “then there must be something wrong.”

In my experience, everything that happens is our opportunity to see how to become free. Life is a combination of challenges, possibilities, and insights all designed to open us up.

There is no finish line. There is no “over that.” There is no “made it.”

There is only this current state of growth in front of us on our way to becoming our next state of growth in front of us.

If we aren’t growing, we’re dead.

In lovingkindness,
