Be kinder to yourself

“Be kinder to yourself than you think you should be.”
—Cheri Huber

T

oday, please be extra special compassionate toward yourself. Here are some ideas for you:

  • Spend time in silence, preferably in nature.
  • Prepare yourself a simple, healthy meal.
  • Ask, “Does this take care of me?”
  • Read something inspirational.
  • Take a leisurely hot bath.
  • Meditate.
  • Go for a walk.
  • Do some yoga.
  • Laugh, sing and dance.
  • Create something just for the fun of it.
  • Practice not taking yourself too seriously.
  • Say something loving to yourself when you hear criticism.

Above all, be kinder to yourself than you think you should be.

If you need a little help seeing yourself through the eyes of compassion, please feel free to do this 5-minute guided visualization. It’s wonderful to do – especially if you don’t feel like doing it ❤️.

This is the kind of “love poem” I imagine the voice in our head would write to us on Valentine’s Day.

In lovingkindness,
