How to take responsibility

 

W

hen you take responsibility for your own life experience and stop blaming others for your dissatisfaction, you become a social relief.

When you take your satisfaction into your own hands, people can breathe easier while they’re around you.

Why?

Because you’re not attempting to get your unmet needs met by them. You’re not a burden. You’re not demanding love or expecting them to fulfill you. You’re not being a helpless damsel in distress waiting for others to come around to rescue you or make you whole.

You’re whole because you experience yourself as whole.

And not only are you whole, but you’re a bottomless source of conscious, compassionate awareness. You have so much love inside that you’re actually an overflowing.

You’re an overflowing of happiness.

So you see, your happiness doesn’t belong to your friends, parents, partners, kids or anyone else on this planet. They don’t have it. They haven’t got a clue what that even looks like. As a matter of fact, the only thing on their minds is how they’re going to get happiness from you!

In this way, happiness, love, and satisfaction have always been your responsibility. Because it’s been yours all along.

And what a relief!
